July 10-17……..Lake Tahoe

Now the journey really beings……….

Family Reunion. 19 members of the family gathered together for a week in glorious Tahoe. The drive up from Oak Hills was gorgeous but another long day of driving. RV Rules are learned the hard way. RV Rule #1: No more than 300 miles in a day. RV Rule #2: Rules are made to be broken.

Jack: Get me out of this thing.

Karen: The final 10 miles nothing but hairpin turns and hanging off cliffs in a speeding RV. RV there yet?

Mom: Thank God I didn’t have to ride to Tahoe in the RV. I bet Karen was hiding on the floor these last few miles.

Willow: Human Mom has decided she likes laying in my dog bed with me while Slow Down is driving.

All nineteen of us gathered together to celebrate Pat’s Retirement from Teaching. She gave all of her professional life to putting kids first. She is by far the most dedicated Teacher and Principal on the Planet. School’s Out Forever Pat!!!! Cheers to a Happy Retirement and our RV trip together that is the start of your new journey. We are ecstatic to be part of it. Much Love. Jack and Karen

Can’t Make This Shit Up Moment of the Day: Our last night in glorious Tahoe we hear walking on the deck around the house in the middle of the night. Apparently, a mother bear was trying to get in the kitchen window. Steve scared her while investigating all of the noise, and watched her walk away, two cubs following her.

Jack: What’s all that noise? Stop barking Willow.

Karen: Somebody’s walking on the deck. Maybe it’s a bear trying to get in and kill us all.

Willow: Nobody listens to me when I bark.

Goodbye Beautiful Tahoe. We’ll be back.

Willow: Can’t believe I had to say goodbye to all of the Little Humans. They are such a great food source. Crumbs just magically fall from them all day long.
